If you can't get a Bell Ocoee or find an old Dagger, I'd suggest Mohawk' Viper 12 might be a decent gamble. Or, wait and test out Esquif's Zephyr. Other than that, MR offers you the Outrage (unless they start producing more old Dagger hulls that the parent company owns - they should do something ...

... about the lower sheer-line is news to me. Bell's specs show differently. Other Esquif boats you might test paddle are the Spark and the new Zephyr. Can't comment on either of them since I haven't even seen them. You might also consider a Mohawk Viper. Frankie also designed them. I paddled ...

Esquif Zephyr introduction NOW at NOC's GAF ***UPDATE!!!

Due to some unexpected manufacturing challenges, the Zephyr will not be unveiled at NOC's Canoe Week this weekend. We've decided to play it save and kick the introduction back to 10/28-10-30 to be part of NOC's Guest Appreciation Festival (GAF) fun! ...

Zephyr

Hi Pat, I paddled one for a few moments at the Gatineau- I'd like to actually run a river in one, before commenting on the performance, but first impressions were favorable- I thought it was really stable *I was only in it about 5 minutes on a little wave, so keep that in mind. I have some pictures ...

Esquif Zephyr (Twintex material)

Anyone seen a Zephyr? http://www.esquif.com/index.php?mod=modeles&id=26 Maybe the hull's lines are a little too soft-chined for this crowd? But, the new (Twintex) material must be of interest. A composite/plastic combo, lighter and ...

Wayner had a bit more of a description...

(The Zephyr is) "based on the Zoom platform but MUCH more forgiving. It's a foot and 1/2 longer (better hull speed), wider (better stability) the chines have been rounded (more user friendly) and made of Twin-Tex (to the tune of about 30 pounds! and bomber strong."

Thanks Wayner!

Louie, I don't get it...

I'm repping from Maine to NC, and you're getting into our new boats before I am?

What's the deal? Are you traveling to Quebec? How did that Zephyr get by me?

Hope to see you around NOC's Canoe Week (Sept. 10-15, check www.noc.com)

Talk soon,
David

zephyr

David I paddled the Glass one this weekend. It a little like the Zoom but a hellva lot more stable, reminded me a lot of a souped up Rival. Jaeques paddle it and he ain't a really little guy and it seemed to fit him fine. Paul Mason, Mark Shiver, and Andrew Westwood all made it look good. I don't th...

Esquif Zephyr to be unveiled at NOC's Canoe Week 9/10-9/15

Hey Gang, I can best describe the Zephyr as an 11'3" Zoom. We added 14" to the middle of the hull, then added 1.5" or width. There is a bit more rocker, and a slightly gentler edge. The APS (Active Pry System) dimples that were featured on ...

Esquif Zephyr

... to med school this fall. He and Jennifer got married this summer and are both heading back to school. Hi Trevor, You are absolutely right, the Zephyr will be slightly toned down from the Zoom, it's not going to be as edgy, will be a bit longer with a bit more rocker. This will be the only twintex ...

david, can you comment on the applications of the zephyr & this new twintex material? what weight class is the zephyr intended for (will it float us big boys?) ? is it going to be a high performance boat like the zoom, or has it been toned down enough ...
