Re: need help ID-ing this New Wave C1

... on the side, sometimes under the pad in my experience with New Wave boats). It is a slalom boat; I'd guess Fanatic II, but could be a Fanatic or Stealth; hopefully someone who paddled all of them and has seen them in person enough can identify it from the one image.

Re: Strip and refinish Royalite?

I don't think that dynel will give you the results that you want even with vacuum bagging, it soaks too much resin. If I was to add an outer protective layer I would try epoxy with graphite powder mixed in, makes it a cool stealth black and a little slicker.

... (aka Defiant) from a CudaMax Sweet had a bolt-on mold extention which made a Hahn hull mold into a OC-1 I have made open canoes out of Max II and Stealth hulls I have always thought the ME had C-2 roots. I had a built-up open boat made from a Hartung C-2 mold, and it looked a lot like an ME. And, ...

Slalom C-1 For Sale

... built (not by me), $120 This is a great boat for someone <160 pounds who wants to get started in slalom racing. Wetted surface is based on the Stealth C-1 which makes for a very hard-chined boat. High volume deck makes it an all-round river runner. 10" deep at the cockpit; 25" wide; about 12' ...

Right now, that is the BO.

But, I expect a ton of folks are on their way here right now to buy that mold. If all you have is a buck, you'd better hurry.

Re: Astral Rassler & 5-10 Water Tennie feedback

... both. If you have a wide foot the Astral has more room in the toe box, otherwise I would choose the water tennie. The sould on both is excellent, Stealth rubber, the most secure I have ever felt on slippery rocks. The Astral downsides are that because they are minimalist I have found the seams ...

Yeah Wayne, I too am now a believer in Stealth Rubber. I have paddled 3 years in Keen Newport's and just got a pair of 5.10 Water Tennies and MAN what a difference! They are sleeker and have unparalleled wet rock grip.

... sure a Fanatic and F2 are among them. Not sure on the Zealot. You may also want to consider a Viper (based on a Cudamax). I do know who has a Stealth mold (and a SuperGlide mold sits not far from you at the moment...). Mitchell Paddles is still in business, but if you want to treat yourself ...
