Asheville, N.C. boaters.

... Asheville area that want to go on some runs. I kayaked for years and after a long hiatus, I decided to teach myself to open boat. I found a Mohawk rodeo and jumped right into the Nanty (lol)! I hit the ledges a good bit to practice strokes and attainment. If anyone is interested in getting together ...

Re: Help

Have to agree with Pat... the Rodeo might be a tad small for your weight range. I paddled one shortly and it was a handfull of fun at 5'8" / 190#. That said you can still use it as a learning tool to assist skill development. Not sure the ...

Re: Help

However, and I don't know the Rodeo from experience, at 240 lbs you might just be on the too-big side for the boat. I'm about 230 lbs and I've found a number of smaller boats frustrating ...

Help

So I picked up a Mohawk Rodeo because I wanted something a little smaller, for surf play. The rodeo is supposed to be the perfect park play boat which is what I wanted for the many great surf holes around my home waters. The only problem ...

... boat and the 20/20 has more volume and is a more refined design overall. I am also loving my Condor, now known as the "Green Banana". Great boat, Rodeo Clown nailed this one, fast, forgiving and dry. All of the fun with half the guilt of paddling an Octane 91.

Homemade Bulkhead saddle?

Hello all, I recently picked up a Mohawk Rodeo. It has the original Mohawk outfitting that is the Mohawk saddle with single thigh strap. I’ve got 4 Mohawks with this set up and have never liked thigh straps. I want to convert to a bulkhead without ...

Re: Ledge or octane

I have the same question, except I'm 5'8" 150. I am also considering the Option. I'm paddling a badly worn Mohawk rodeo... All I want for Christmas is a new canoe, or at least a good idea on what to buy. I live in SW Colorado so demo'ing doesn't seem like an viable choice. I'd like ...
