Re: Under rated boats...

... it without my partners help other than tucking up to the deck. We only paddled it a few more times before getting a larger boat, a Valley Mill Patriot that was not as much fun. It was rock solid but just didn't have that snappy feel. Until recently, Storm Giant, US made recreational C2's were ...

Re: Millbrook M.E. Thoughts

... what boat in his lineup best matches up with what you are looking for... IIRC there might be another "classic" style boat you may want to look at (Patriot?), and there may be others that are better suited for what you are looking for. I have a soft spot for the AC/DC as it was the boat I first ...

... deflected into the foam layer. Kaz - I'll try that. Cautiously. I thought our SC summer would have done it spontaneously by now :-) [BTW, that Patriot paddles sweetly, especially now that I have a good kneeling thwart in the right place and some foam glued down.]

Re: Go to boat?

Whitewater :
Oc-1 - Spanish Fly
c-1 - Remix 79

Flat water -
Might there be a rock? Interlude
No rocks? Explorer or patriot

But in the spirit of your question, I'll say - Spanish Fly :-)

Re: AC/DC review

I do indeed have a Patriot now :-) I've gotten in it only once and for only about 30 minutes using a foam pedestal. Given my schedule the next couple of weeks, it might be a spell before I get a more in depth evaluation and permanent ...

... result was a scratch with a maximun depth of a few 10th millimeters :o @Scott: I figured out that you will soon be paddling the "solo AC/DC" aka Patriot. Looks great, and if it features the AC/DCs character in a smaller package, it must be tons of fun to paddle. I am really curious about your ...

Re: AC/DC review

My mistake - I am interested in an AC/DC, but even more interested in a *Patriot* - the smaller AC/DC and, per my last e-mail from Kaz, not vacuum bagged (he is planning top put a flange on the mold to make that available). I've been looking for AC/DC impressions ...

Re: any c-2's for sale out there?

Hi, Jay. I have the Soileau's Deadline c-2 that's just sitting around. Lots of volume (big volume) and cockpits are offset (righty-bow; lefty-stern). Hull and deck are in great shape. I think it's design is a little more turny than the Patriot though it does attain well. PM me if you want pics.

Re: any c-2's for sale out there?

Thanks for the replies. Northwest is a little too far, but thanks for the info. I'd be interested in seeing pix of the Patriot. NY is still far away but I have some friends in that direction and could maybe work out some kind of relay delivery if necessary. My email is jackditty at mac.com.

Re: any c-2's for sale out there?

I have a Patriot C2, built by Valley Mill Boats. It is in very good condition, a fast and responsive boat. Cockpits are offset for Stern right/Bow left. Paid $400.00 used and have caused very little wear since. I am reluctant ...

... it's got to many doo-dads that arnt really worth it. I do like the out of the way pockets, need other vests to start doing that. Im using an MTI patriot and for as bulky as it looks it gives lots of mobility. Big pockets on the front can get in the way of a raft reentry and such. I usually keep ...

An overlooked company is MTi. Excellent products at a great price and just recently bought by Gordon and Lily, two of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. For big water the 26# Big Bouy/or Patriot rescue vest are my favorites. Other times I use Stohlquist
