Re: 20/20 reviews for 230# please

... or hemmed in. I was looking at Kaz’ list and it was the Defiant and the 20/20 that interested me. I know some people my size have the Outrage or Rival but it is mixed reviews and I want something that sits proud on the water.

Re: skid plats and plastic deck/gunnels on a rival

Have you weighed it? Did you weigh your old MR Outrage? The 2001 Dagger catalog lists the Rival at 43/40 lbs (wood/vinyl). That's probably Rolayex, not the RX lite/light version. But I'm sure you could swap out the gunwales for wood and save weight. ...

skid plats and plastic deck/gunnels on a rival

I was given a rival - royalex light. I am trying to see how I can lighten it (I am 5' and 105lb). My last royalex was a mad river outrage with wood gunnels and i was able to load/unload it by myself. Right now the rival feels much heavier. It has skid plates that appear to have been glued ...

Re: Buying Advice

... I found the boat to be fast and nimble as expected, but I found it to be quite stable and predictable as well. Comparing it to my old Mad River Outrage, I would say the Shacho is at least as stable and I feel that it has better secondary stability. I'm able to find the sweet spot when edging ...

Re: Learner Boat--Advice most appreciated

... my experienced boater friends are giving suggestions on what'd be the next. I think Ovation and Ocoee is quite a bit shorter and lighter than Outrage.

Re: Learner Boat--Advice most appreciated

My prediction: if the Outrage is too big and heavy...the same will be true for the Ocoee and Ovation. Maybe, more so.

How did you like the stability, spin, and speed of the Zephyr? How do want the new boat to differ from the Zephyr?

Learner Boat--Advice most appreciated

Hello, I am new to solo WW open canoe--first paddled in 2019. I had a choice between Esquif Zephyr and MadRiver Outrage. I am small (5'4", 133 pd) and not great with upper body strength. The MadRiver was too big and heavy for me. I have been paddling Zephyr last season--nothing ...

Re: Outrage X new 700.00

Wow! Gotta say when I first looked at the 2nd photo, your hand was so bright in the pic that it looked like a giant hole. And the scratches behind are a different boat, right?

Re: Mad River Outrage reduced to $600

Boat is sold.

(I'd edit the headline to say so, but can't figure out how to do that.)
