Re: C1 & C2 Boating

... me that I have to get paddling again or I'm going to go crazy. I was running everything in a Viper 11 but left that behind. I've got an Esquif l'Edge Lite and a 1988 New Wave Descender that I haven't gotten wet yet. Getting the last few things buttoned up with gear and outfitting. I'll have stories ...

Re: What are you nifty water bottle carrier setups for a small solo canoe with bulkhead?

... I finally made the transition to a modern, shorter, plastic boat (moving from an Outrage and Ocoee to a L'Edge SuperLite). ... Part of it is that I'm not loving the bulkhead, but hopefully I can just keep carving &/or glueing until I get it right. Though I can't figure out ...

Re: Where is the post about pulling in the gunnels on a L’edge

Pulling in the gunwales on any whitewater canoe reduces the rocker. On a boat like the Ledge, it may help it to track better. You'll still have plenty of rocker. I would remove the thwarts fore and aft of the bulkhead/saddle, cut off 1", only need to cut one side, re-drill and bolt back in. If you d...

Where is the post about pulling in the gunnels on a L’edge

I’m looking for an old post about pulling the gunnels in on a L’edge to make it more snappy. It’s a pretty old post and I’ve tried a few searches to find it but to no avail. Anyone know where it is? I believe it had had comparison photos of one l’edge with ...

Demo in Arizona?

Anyone in Arizona, or nearby, have an Option, Octane, or L'edge they'd be willing to let me demo? Hard to find canoes in general around here.

Re: Quality breakdown paddle

I’m pleased with my Aqua Bound break-downs. I have a 2-piece and a 3-piece. https://aquabound.com/products/edge-1pc-whitewater-paddle I’ve heard good things about the Werner break-down. Didn’t know Shaggy Designs made break-downs. “ Both the shafts can be made into breakdown ...

Re: Silverbirch Agent 8.8 Vs Covert 9.3

Based on what I've gathered. It's an Agent that you are after! A L'edge to Covert will feel fairly similar when all is said and done with little differences here and there. The Agent will feel like a whole new boat and can pretty much guarantee you'd love ...

Re: Esquif Ledge vs Silverbirch Agent 8.8

Have the Agent 88, love it, had two L Edge lites and loved them. Plastic seems similar enough that if you wore out the L Edge, you probably won't get much different mileage out of the Agent. I will say this though, after a year of paddling, ...

Hornet and Magnet comparisons

... - blazingly fast - just as fast as my Fanatic on flatwater - I did back to back comparisons - the fastest cruising C1 I've ever paddled - no edges - forgiving on a surf wave but also not able to steer much by leaning the boat - turns pretty well, and extremely well for an 11' long boat - ...

Re: Esquif Zephyr XL

Please let us know how that 20/20 compares to the old old Viper. That boat has been on my radar for the past year but honestly the edge scares me. It looks so fragile hanging down all by it’s lonesome like it might as well have a bullseye on it. Half joking but it does seem that repair ...

Re: L'Edge Superlight Outfitting

My first reaction to my SuperLite outfitting was how giant the bulkhead and saddle were! Actually, 2nd reaction - 1st was disappointment that the gunwales hadn't been sanded and oiled. 3rd was that there was only 1 transfer tube (just a hole/tube, no liner pipe in it). I moved in the thwarts and cut...
