Wanted: Lotus P-Vest Flotation Implant

I purchased a brand new Lotus p-vest this winter from someone who had been hanging on to it for a couple of years and I've been looking for the flotation implant that Lotus used to sell as an accessory to this PFD. Does anyone have one of these in good condition that they would be willing to sell? T...

Saddle Distance

I paddled an H3 255 for quite a while. The front of my saddle seatback from the back of the cockpit rim was about 8 inches. I'm 6'4" and about 195lbs., so I would guess that you may be slightly forward of 8 inches, but that would be a good starting point. I actually went from paddling a Skeeter to a...

Friends, I appreciate the informative replies. I would love to get my hands on an appropriately sized plastic C1 slalom. (I'm about 200lbs.) It was nice to read some opinions on the Green Boat. I may have to think about it a little more. As I mentioned, it is very difficult to get boats around here,...

Thank you for the responses. I must not be so proficient using the search function on this site. I did try looking for info on the Green Boat. I wouldn't mind a Cascade or a slalom boat to mess around in, though up here it is exceedingly difficult to find boats. There just happened to be a nearly ne...

Dagger Green Boat as a C1?

I'm wondering if anyone has paddled a Green Boat as a C1? I noticed that a C1er raced one at last year's Green race, but other than that I can't seem to find much information. It is obviously a bit on the narrow side (hull width is listed at 24.25 inches) as far as being a good candidate for a conve...

Neck Gaskets

Oh, the debate: stretching or trimming? Personally, I think that neck gaskets stretch out significantly after about 3-5 days of use and I never do anything other than allow for a sufficient "break in" period. I only resort to trimming after extended use and the latex is exhibiting severe cracks and ...

Thank you for the previous replies. I live in Alaska and, yes, paddle a decked boat. Durability is great, but not if it comes with a "clunky" feel. I really don't have too many complaints with the 58" Bandit fiberglass that I use now, I just think that wood has a nice feel and would be "warm" consid...

Pothole Paddles C1 Paddle?

Does anyone have experience using a Pothole Paddles C1 paddle? I have looked at other wooden paddle manufacturers as well, however, I am specifically interested in a Pothole paddle for river running/creeking. While paddle weight is a concern, durability is more of an issue. I have used several Bandi...

LL rail

I agree the XP10 looks like it could be a great C1 for overnighters. And probably pretty enjoyable as a very large river running boat. Regarding the LL kayak rail; I used a rail on a Dagger CFS conversion a few years ago. I drilled through the rail and bolted 1/8" thick by 1/2" wide aluminum stock d...

FS: Dagger CFS and Pyranha H3-255

Dagger CFS C1, nicely outfitted and in good condition. I still have all of the original kayak outfitting if one prefers it as a kayak. Asking 300.- Pyranha H3-255 Hull with bow and stern walls. Ready to be outfitted for C1. Boat is in good condition with one very small hairline crack where the kayak...

Breakdown Paddle?

Just curious what other C1ers are using for breakdown paddles. I think I am going to make one by sawing a plastic covered aluminum paddle and then installing one of those push-button deals like you see on cheap inflatable kayak paddles. I don't cherish the thought of cutting one of my good paddles s...

Isaac......are there any Fluid dealers in Missoula? I'm guessing not. Maybe the Canoe Rack could get one in for you. Off the subject, I lived in Missoula for a while after college. I've guided on the Lochsa for a number of years. Maybe you were one of the few open boaters I've seen on the Lochsa? I ...
