Re: What are you nifty water bottle carrier setups for a small solo canoe with bulkhead?

Pat, I used some small diameter beige colored pipe from canadian tire, probably less than a 1/2 inch, perhaps made of PVC? Yeah, my knot takes up most of the space of the drainage pipe. That is ok, I am also using it to pass a pump harness (wires). Besides, I bore a larger semi-cylindrical drainage ...

Re: What are you nifty water bottle carrier setups for a small solo canoe with bulkhead?

Anyway, storage was one the issues/questions I had. In my Royalex boats there was always enough d-rings around to secure a water bottle and dry bags, but not the case in plastic with a bulkhead... Sounds like some foam carving and/or bungees will be the way to go for throw rope and water bottle. I'...

Re: Repair T-Formex Dents

The Explorer, that is what I thought. The more I think about it, the more I am convinved those deformations are due to overtightened glued on anchors inside the hull. Check to see if the depressions match glued-on anchors inside? If that is the case, your friend should make sure he partially deflate...

Re: Repair T-Formex Dents

jf, I do have some experience repairing Royalex but surely not as much as some here. I assume T-formex is just the same as Royalex, although earlier versions I have seen had irregularities as Esquif was still perfecting their art. I would be confident repairing an impact dent using the heat techniqu...

Re: Repair T-Formex Dents

Please let us know how this happened and how are your canoe is? Normally, I would just follow Royalex repair instructions, but I am surprised to see this type of deformation!

What are you nifty water bottle carrier setups for a small solo canoe with bulkhead?

I've always clipped a nalgene bottle to the front lacing using a cheap carabiner. I'm outfitting a new covert right now and I'd like to do a lot better. I'd love to hear and SEE what you have done to hold your water bottles in your small plastic boat/bulkhead setup? One thought I had had is installi...

Re: Sources for valves for Voyageur/Harmony float bags?

Those NRS valves are for a larger diameter feed tube, I think. I've got a bunch of NRS bags, so I have some of those replacement NRS valves. I also have one set of the blue vinyl Harmony kayak bags with the red feed tubes. The NRS valves are too big to fit into the ends of those red feed tubes. I'v...

Re: Need some tips for basic royalex and vinyl anchor repair

sbroam, or anyone else, concerning the anchors and epoxy, I have tried to remove the residual epoxy with a dremel but i am not able to stop at the vinyl and keep ending removing it down to the abs which is green given that the color of both the epoxy and the vinyl are similar, any better ideas on ho...

Re: Astral Footwear?

Surprisingly, I wore out the front toe stitches on both my Rasslers after as single weekend of OC1ing. The soles were also coming undone. Fortunately I will be returning them and trying out the 2015 version. Will be freesoling a toe box before my 1st outing though. They are comfy but as stated earli...

Need some tips for basic royalex and vinyl anchor repair

Hi! I just got lucky and am now a new owner of a very decent condition vintage (1995) Mad River Outrage with wood gunnals. I've got 2 items I am wanting to repair on the boat and am also wondering about wood gunnal maintenance: 1) One of two of the airbag vinyl patches was glued with was seems to be...
