I read that it will allow manufactures to continue to use the royalex molds and uses the same abs core but has a new proprietary outer layer. While I have no doubts that coming from Esquif it will be of high quality, hopefully they can keep it in the same price range as royalex.

I'm a kayaker looking to get a OC-1. Have lots of flatwater canoe experience and kayak experience, looking for a boat to get me started, Hopefully less than 600. I'm based out of CO but will be in WA for a good part of the summer so can pick up boats in either place.
