Re: Boat needs a ride from Buffalo NY to Minnesota

I'm in Minneapolis Minnesota but willing to travel to pick up the boat. Not sure exactly where in Buffalo, but the person I'm buying the boat from travels a good amount for boating, so maybe there is a chance to get it to Pittsburgh before your trip depending on when it is?

Re: Slalom in the midwest

Would love to experience running gates on the lower Saint Louis!!! Had a conversation with someone (I'm horrible with names) last summer at the outpost who said she has access to gates there. She also has the knowledge of where they placed them in the past and said she was down to figure something o...

Re: mohawk viper 11 for sale

Don't suppose you have any plans to travel towards Minnesota anytime soon? Would love to give a Viper 11 a try, but guessing that commercial shipping from there would be very expensive.

Re: Moving from MN to VA?

Permanent for now. Applying to a few grad schools this January. Would like to go to VCU, but I'll have to weigh out my options if I have any. Will be in Richmond for at least a year. Really looking forward to exploring some of the rivers around here! Had a great road trip, but I didn't paddle much. ...

Re: Go to boat?

Currently have the Spanish Fly, Karma, and Outrage for river/creek running. Big fan of all 3 and enjoy switching back and forth. If I was heading to an unknown river that I thought was going to be extremely difficult I'd bring the Karma. If I had to go down to owning 1 out of the 3 I'd choose the Sp...

Re: Moving from MN to VA?

Thanks for all the suggestions! Guess we aren't leaving until Sunday though, so we're going to miss any weekend opportunities, or Monday releases. Anything running later in the week? My wife is more interested in scenic hikes/drives/camping and the beach. Planning on driving to the Atlantic coast an...

Moving from MN to VA?

Moving from Minneapolis MN to Richmond VA this weekend with my wife. Taking 70E/35E/64E through the Appalachian Mountains. Will be our first time being anywhere around there. Taking 7 days to make the trip, so we have some time to look around. Would love some suggestions for places to go along the w...

First canoe D of Illgen Falls

First canoe descent of Illgen Falls! Located on the Baptism river on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. The first person to run this waterfall was in a c1. They called him Fearless Fred and it was the late 70s. Since then numerous kayakers have made the plunge. As far as I know this is t...

Re: best cboating online videos

Anyone have any footage of Jamie McEwan paddling? Came across this article over the winter http://www.canoekayak.com/whitewater-kayak/nothing-rocks-jamie-mcewan/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and have since read some others. Some great writing and it sounds like he was a great paddl...

Going to stick to c1 because I don't want to post too much on here. Have not met, or paddled with any of the above paddlers. #notbiased
