All in all it looks like its barely been used. Standard Mohawk outfitting. I'd like to get $1000 for it, boat is in asheville. Always g...

you know, that isnt actually a bad idea.... i would, however, recommend taking the airbags out before touching any of that foam with a knife.

Re: Adding thigh straps to an Ion, recommendations?

ive tried. ive found that the only way youre going to stay in the ion well enough to roll it is either going to rely on you pushing against the footpegs into the bulkhead, or a "suicide belt" around your waist. i do enough creeking in mine that i just stuck with the footpegs- its easy to sip your fe...

Any model, beat up, needing repair, I don't care. It just has to be cheap. Let me know what you've got.

Re: Jackson Karma... M or L?

get the smaller size. itll be more nimble and maneuverable, but still have the qualities you want. the karma should be extremely easy to roll because of the shape. you would be swamped in the large.

Re: Oc-1 or -2 for small-ish teenagers?

mohawk makes some great boats. they are, however, not made in china- they are, in fact, made in chattanooga, tennessee. yes, the ENC program is great, (and so are the probes- i own an 11) but if they are going to seriously get into it, a probe is probably not the boat for them. i must return to my u...

Re: twist and crawl

May I suggest going to a chiropractor or similar? The problem may not be in the boat, but in your joints instead.

Re: Best kids Canoe?

Chris- if youre up near asheville, shes welcome to try out my ion. they do come up used on occasion- just put it out there that youre looking. heck, if Jeremy ever came out with mixed color boats, MINE might even be for sale if the right person asked. let me know if you (she) wants to try it out.

Re: Blackfly Ion as first boat??

Especially for lighter people, technique will solve a lot of the speed problems (on moving water. Nothing will change the slowness on flat). I was really surprise by how easy it was to maintain speed (possibly because of incredibly low expectations, but still) in the tellico race this spring. It bas...
