Hey Folks, I just stepped into the role of Director for the Reel Paddling Film Festival and I'm currently looking for films for the 2013 Tour. Quick run through of what it's about - We take the best films we can find throughout paddlesports (whitewater, touring, canoe, SUP, fishing, pro, amateur, do...

Re: Need input for Rapid Article on Best/Worst Boats of all

I paddled, and despised, a Dagger XT. As for C-1s, my Perception Sage "Miss Piggy" was really bad. Survey is too long, too many parts. I have short attention span. Also the statement about flatter hulls increasing stability shows astounding lack of understanding about hull design. Sorry, there it i...

Need input for Rapid Article on Best/Worst Boats of all time

Hey guys, We are working on an article for Rapid Mag on the best and worst boats of all time as chosen by paddlers and was hoping for input. If you could take the time to fill out the survey (only the categories you know, don't worry about the others) that would be great. Feel free to let us know if...

or what about

One seat left for a kayaker and one seat outfitted as a C1? Maybe would be a neat way to introduce kayakers to C1?

Rapid Media's Gnarly Nub Contest

So in light of some random stranger making fun of Scott's feet on a plane I thought we should run a contest in search of the grossest feet out there (due to boating). Here are the details for those interested (including a video in which I personally think Scott has really out done himself). http://w...

No issues when we were there

Scott paddled the L'edge there for our Digital Extra Review in Rapid. They didn't have any issues with the boat and Scott only swam once.... Here is the link to the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i1pqVCstkM this was the 'left' channel. The right side was pretty boily and they ended up turning i...

Good call

I'm loving the longer than mine list as it gives me some ammo to show my wife "see honey we really should get a few more boats...."

As a kayaker I

will try to empty the boat from my kayak. It's easier though because I'm a lot lower in the water than in an open boat. A few things that will help is if you sink the stern (less volume/water in the stern) it will pop the bow up and then try to throw it across the deck. Bulldozing a full boat doesn'...

I see I've got some catching up to do

that and I love the fact that the list almost always keeps getting longer (and that seems more acceptable then my list of girlfriends/wives getting longer....)

Lets see your boat list!

So Scott's editorial in the new issue of Rapid is about all the boats he's owned in the past http://www.rapidmag.com/blogs/46-off-the-tonque/774-to-all-the-boats-ive-loved-before.html Let's see your list and tell me you don't think back about each and every one of those boats! (Sometimes for good so...

How much does paddle design affect rolling?

So I just learned to roll an open boat a few weeks ago (haven't had the chance to try again since) and I was basically using a crappy aluminium and plastic raft paddle and wondered how much different it would be with something better? I have no basis on wether it was my poor technique (which I'm sur...
