Re: need help ID-ing this New Wave C1

Difficult for me to tell from that angle; there should be a build sheet glassed in (usually by the right knee, sometimes on the side, sometimes under the pad in my experience with New Wave boats). It is a slalom boat; I'd guess Fanatic II, but could be a Fanatic or Stealth; hopefully someone who pad...

Re: Fiberglass Crack Repair, Unemployed Boaters Union Local 282

If the crack is all the way through it is worth trying clean it up on the inside and get a patch back there. It may require pulling some outfitting out of course (a good excuse to tweak things anyway;) ), and perhaps the scraper on a stick (later epoxied fiberglass). I'd almost be tempted to put kev...

Re: Canoe Specs

If you go to "CBoats.net" you'll see the Boats header is still there with all the information. It appears the background and header have disappeared this week... not sure why yet.

Re: Surf c1

When I used to travel for business around the northeast I took my Groove to Maine a few times - great time surfing.

John Frachella designed the Viper for surfing off the coast of Maine if you prefer a long board;)

Re: Putting a new handle on a fiberglass Werner paddle

I tend to use West Systems for just about everything, in part because I have the cans and pumps and that makes it really easy. I suspect given the materials you are working with just about any 2 part epoxy is going to work; just be sure you rough the surfaces up a bit if they are smooth and or gloss...

Re: Free Downloads Kent Fords Drill TIme and Solo Playboating

Thank you Kent!

I've copied the post here and left it in CVideos as well.

I have my well-watched copy of Drill Time from years ago:)

Under rated boats...

I was thinking of all the boats in the collection today, and all the discussion over the years of the "best" boat (here, Facebook, other forums, etc...). Admittedly it very much depends on what you are looking for - two of my long term favorite boats are the Shaggy Sith and Frachella designed Viper ...

Re: Paddling Magazine article

A few folks know, mostly I just watch the for sale boards:) The one boat I'd really like to find is an Aerobat, as it is interesting to see the progression ending in the Acrobat that so many of us like. Other boats include a Meltdown (UK boat, not sure I'll ever find one), a Shaggy Jedi, and at leas...

Paddling Magazine article

I'm humbled by the article and comments in this issue! I enjoyed talking to Ian and discussing the collection as well as CBoats.net, but unfortunately some of the folks we chatted about who are integral to getting CBoats.net to where it is were left out of the article (there is only so much space, b...

Re: Hornet and Magnet comparisons

Here is a little information: https://www.cboats.net/c_db/list.php?type=1&alpha=M&boat_id=111&name=Magnet I'd forgotten I need to measure the Magnet; I have one out of the "new" mold (Class V composites has a mold now...). Plenty of volume (more than the Hornet). The Hornet is faster though, as has ...

Tomahawk C2 and Wildwater C1 for sale

I've decided it is time to move on a few boats that are not part of the core CBoats collection (race boats I don't seem to paddle any more). -Upstream Edge Tomahawk C2 - nice and light, I"m pretty sure Kevlar in the hull and it definitely has a foam core deck. Center cockpits, but originally set up ...

Re: C1 and C2 for sale - Update

After 3 years hard to say.

I'm about to post up a Upstream Edge Tomahawk C2 for sale (nice layup, foam core deck, good shape) for $800. PM if interested, otherwise I'll post it up here eventually. Located in upstate NY.
