Re: airbag lacing

Thanks for the input. It's good to know that it's safe to drill.

I also like the idea of gluing webbing loops or something similar. Is there a piece of hardware made for that purpose?

airbag lacing

I have a Wenonah Solo Plus made with Tuf-weave. (Their website says Tuf-weave is a combination of polyester and fiberglass). The gunwales are aluminum. I paddle the boat solo, and I would like to add lacing for extra flotation. I've been reading on Cboats that it's pretty standard to drill through t...

Are you on Facebook? If so, you might get a few leads by posting to the PDX Kayaker group:

Re: The NorthWest Creeking Comp!

I probably won't race this year, but I would love to boat with you while you're down here. I've paddled the East Fork Lewis and Canyon Creek in my canoe. In 2013 I was the lone C1'r in a Cascade. I swam at Dragon's back but I eventually finished the race. In 2014 I helped with safety. It's really fu...

Looks like the rapid from this video:

According to this post in Cboats, the paddler is Vincent Dupont.

Re: Stern "squirting" in a Cascade C1?

Rand, I like it that you are a fan of the Cascade. I enjoyed my brief stint in the boat. But have you ever tried a modern creekboat conversion for comparison? (I was really happy in my Remix). Is there something in particular about the Cascade design that keeps you coming back?

Re: C1 Remix conversion

My Remix 79 conversion bit the dust this year, but I really enjoyed it while it lasted. It's the only conversion I've done so far. Like you said, I also owe a debt to all those cboaters who posted over the years. You did a great job documenting your work. My hip pads looked similar to yours, but the...

Re: C1 Remix conversion

That is a very nice conversion.

What did you choose to do about the gap between the hull and the rail? Fill it in with foam, or let it be?

In what way do the hip pads hinder your exit? Are they getting in the way of your feet?

Re: so bored now...

Looks good to me!. The only thing I notice is that you seem to be reaching back with the paddle. (Toward the stern, instead of perpendicular to the boat). Is that on purpose? I try to focus on being perpendicular to the boat. However, I do have a tendency to reach back, as evidenced by this video I ...
