Lost Paddle

I lost a Mitchell Paddle on Tellico. It has pink duct tape on the blade and rubber tape the shaft. If anyone has found it, please call me at (931) 260-0839. I will be at ALF this weekend. Hopefully it will turn up.

Where does boat design stop and a paddler's skill begin?

I have been paddling an option since ALF but and love it. Recently, I was able paddle my old zoom on the pigeon. During that time, I noticed something, I have gotten a bit lazy in my new boat. This makes me ask the question, Is there such thing as a boat being too forgiving for the paddler? Don't ge...

Both are great boats. I have been paddling the option since ALF and have also been able to paddle the ledge on some occasions. I have noticed that the option seems a bit more stable than the ledge (if it is possible) and more playful. Both are extremely stable but slow. I would recommend the option ...

I have just recently learned how to roll. I don't yet have a concept of exactly how easy or hard the option is to roll, because it is the only boat I have rolled. Since I have nothing to compare it to in that regard, all I can say is that I have rolled the option with a six inch saddle. I do not reg...

I cut down the saddle on my option to about six inches at ALF. The upside to this was that it gave the boat more control over the boat and stability by lowering the center of gravity. The downside is that it changes the angle that your knees fit into the bulkhead and is harder to escape from when yo...

I traded my beloved zoom with my dad to try his option on the Green Briar and didn't give it back. I also paddled the lower Tellico and Lily to Nemo on Clear Creek in it. Great boat! More stable than the zoom (take that for what its worth), yet just as playful. It's very hard to swim in it and paddl...
