Dagger Cascade and Wavesport Super EZ C-1s - BOTH ARE SOLD

Seriously thinning the quiver. Cascade has factory saddle with custom quick-release thigh straps. In excellent shape. $150 Cdn. Super EZ is a good big boy's river running play boat. Surfs beautifully but can still get down the river! Hull is in good shape with bulkhead and custom quick-release thigh...

Looking for a Shaggy Sith

I'm interested in buying a Sith. Ideally I would try before I buy, but we all know that's not always possible. I have a Delirious in the quiver and am getting more comfortable in that size of boat and have certainly heard from Martin and others that a Sith is much nicer. Anyone have a Sith for sale?...

Re: C1 Playboating massacre!

I've been C1ing for a couple of years. I started with a Pyranha Burn - loved it and still do. I then went both smaller and larger for different needs of running more challenging rivers and dedicated playing / easy rivers. There is a role for many boats in my quiver. I generally want enough boat for ...

Re: How much rocker should a WW canoe have for class 2 - eas

I have done lots of tandem canoing on Class I to III, and kayaking and now solo canoing the same water. The progression takes time for most of us. The main challenge is to gain the same control you may get quickly in a solo kayak in a solo canoe. Having a paddle on both sides (i.e. training wheels) ...

Re: Stomper 90 or Remix 79?

TGG,

I sure like the Remix 69 you picked up for me at the Grand Canyon. Stable and fast! Don't know the Stomper though.

I think Franc from TRU bought a 79, and might be able to comment on it relative to the Stomper. He sure was happy with his 79.

Thanks again! :D

Re: WTB Dagger/Bell Ocoee or similar

If the boat is in good shape, I hope you enjoy it! I liked the Ocoee. Some people find it edgy with relatively hard chines, but if you've paddle for a while you'll probably be ready for it. I also liked a Viper 11, which was slightly easier (I think the chines don't run quite so far toward each end)...

There's a Dagger Ocoee in Montreal for sale at the MEC link below: http://www.mec.ca/Apps/outdoorGearSwap/gearswap_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302884096&refNo=294052&category_cd=Paddling&sub_category_cd=Canoes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Don't know anything about this ...

Re: Would you ever...

Yes! I think I've done all the combinations: sight unseen, un-paddled, test-driven in a pool / lake, tested in whitewater, etc. No bad experiences to report - I just get to learn more and more about what I like each time! Have had only good experiences with trusting sellers to deliver the goods as p...

Useful Lesson!

We had a fortunate turn of events. TGG needed a teaching session for his university course and we were more than available. A half day on "off-side eddy turns" may not sound like "cool stuff" to some people, but it sure was a good step in improving my confidence with my weakest move and therefore wo...

I have a small Burn and a Remix 69. The Remix is much faster - I actually find myself overshooting targets (surf waves) when ferrying. The Burn has harder edges and is therefore more playful and slightly less forgiving. I'm calling the Remix my "confidence boat" and the Burn my "playful / solid boat...

Having said that (above) I have a Remix 69 which is my "confidence boat" and makes a much better first C-1. My kayaking and C-1 experiences all suggest: get enough boat to start with, and work you way down in size / playfulness! Otherwise it's the school of hard knocks, and many rolls - apparently, ...

For a cheaper option, how about a Wavesport Super EZ? I've recently acquired both an EZ and Big EZ C-1's and like what I've seen so far. I've paddled the EZ a bit and find it good on the easy stuff at my 150 lbs, but have serious "flotsom syndrome" in harder water. It's shorter and slower than the R...

Hi Pat, I hear what you're saying! I started C-1 about 1.5 years ago and sometimes wonder WHY! I have a kayaking and OC-2 background, and both are easier in many ways. I liken the C-1 to telemark skiing in many ways - not easier, you're not more capable at first, and you have sore knees more than yo...

Cut it

I had a gasket slowly split on me a couple of years ago, and it taught me that the neck didn't have to be nearly as tight as I though to seal. I now cut gaskets with high quality scissors, one ring at a time, and make sure they are comfortable without having to stretch them very much.

Bought an EZ

I ended up buying a Wavesport EZ. As many of you pointed out, it's the right size for me. I had a chance to try one in the pool last week, and after a 1 hour temporary C-1 conversion job I had a excellent try with it and liked it a lot. Now it's mine. Coloradopaddler, I also just bought a Remix 69 t...
