Have a quesiton, which I know was already discussed a long time ago (gotta love that search function), but I want some clarification....

I just picked up a necky blunt, at a nice cheap price.... unfortunately, I have to get a new sprayskirt for my playboat this season as well.... you ...

did you get a woody single blade? I've been thinking about one of those... i've heard they're absolutely bomber, but have only ever seen them with two blades. how much did she cost you?

get some nylon fabric repair patches (mec or other stores).. if you really want to be fancy, you can go for gore-tex patches... but i certainly wouldn't bother spending the extra money on a 2x2" patch

get rid of the duct-tape, and try to get all the goop off of the fabric that the tape will leave ...

because kayak cockpits are usually not nearly as roomy as an open boat, it is usually effective to mount your thighstraps with bolts through the holes that the kayak seat was mounted on (ie, they're at the top of the boat, right at your hips)

otherwise, it is always possible to drill a new hole in ...

ok, two things here pop into my head...

the first is boat angle, and the second boat position.

even if you're pointing downstream, you should still try to be paddling on the inside of your arc. so as you are moving to the left, you should be paddling cross-forward, with a left-tilt or flat boat ...

which side of the boat are you taking your strokes on?

if you're trying to make a big ferry to the left, and you're paddling on the right, you're going to have a lot of difficulty.

Make sure you're feeling super comfortable on your cross-forward stroke, and then use it the entire way across the ...

contact cement will bond foam to foam, and foam to kayak.

just make sure it is the super poisonous stuff (which the red can is i believe)

as for d-rings, don't bother. Getting d-rings to stick to a kayak hull is dam near impossible.
