Re: Boat for Grand Canyon
It's too late now but I'm selling my Whitesell Descender w/pump I took down the Grand 2 years ago. It worked great, no swims but several portages lower. I only did the top half and I believe the rounded chine is the way to go. Denver would have been out of your way also. Sounds like you had some of ...

Re: C1 in Flagstaff?
I don't think they have that Pirana anymore. We were outfitted by Moenkopi and they say someone wrecked it. So I bought a well used Descender and put a 1200gph bilge pump and Mohawk saddle and it worked fine. No swims but several portages. I put it together just for the GC, which we just finished. I...

Re: Rare Whitesell Whirlwind in mint condition
If it were cheaper I would get it to replace my Whirlwind, my #1 boat. It would be a
luxury to replace my usable but beat to hades boat at this stage. If I were just 20 years
younger...

If you still have the Whitesell Decender I'm interested. I realize some time has passed
since your post.

The Whirlwind has been my main boat for over 20 years. I just keep patching it up. It is great for the bigger water here out west. Very dry, kinda slow due to full front(hence dry) I have the light layup so is close to Z weight. Seems the Z would be nicer for creeking back east though. The W ref to ...
