Batmax upper weigth limit ?

Any thoughts?

I've been talking about getting an old 4 meter boat to play around in for years, I may have just hot the put-up or shut-up point and was wondering what I should consider as the upper paddler weight limit for a Batmax.

Thanks

Rebuilding paddle blade

Has anybody had any experience rebuilding worn down paddle blades? I have a carbon Werner Bandit, and noticed that the blade was getting fairly badly worn down, in the sense of getting shorter due to wearing away the bottom edge. It's currently maybe 1.5" shorter than when new. I was thinking of thi...

Not my boat, and what is it?

Not my boat, know nothing about it ,one of my paddling buddies sent me this link, Craigslist in Lexington KY; http://lexington.craigslist.org/boa/5665908170.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Swapped a text with the seller, oddly, he doesn't seem to know what model it is either. Any...

Re: Dagger Cascade = ??

I recall seeing that Millbrook listed a Cascade derived C1, on checking I see the Hornet, attributed to Bob Putnam. My memory of an open topped Cascade is probably faulty, but with cloth and resin I suppose I could explore. Getting off my own topic, I'm kind of curious about higher volume Cascades. ...

Dagger Cascade = ??

I have a vague memory of hearing that some open boat shares a below waterline hull form with the Cascade C1,either as progenitor, sibling, or offspring.

I was wondering if anyone could confirm/deny and if it is so, what is the open boat?

Thanks

What boat is this?

Had I made it to ALF this year I might know the answer.

In this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAdvIuq6gvo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

at about 4:36. The yellow boat with the deep blue bags. It looks like a Big Dog logo, but I couldn't find it on their site.

Re: Tellico first timer

My experience of ALFs past, even if you don't know anybody you can find somebody to show you some lines, it's a wonderful group of paddlers. As to the race, it ends at the bottom of Baby Falls, so before Jared's Knee. The other point to consider is how the traffic level affects the river's rating. C...

Thanks for clearing that up.

The video makes clear that even our wildest interpretations of the still wear way to tame.

One of my buddies came across this article and was trying to figure out what was going on in this photo, we were hoping that another view of the rapid might give some context. http://www.canoekayak.com/canoe/hot-spot-quebec-remains-fertile-ground-for-canoe-talent/#lmA4fycQXuEo2xTS.97" onclick="windo...

Re: ZET - Factory C1s in Canada

Good looking boats and rigging, a point about your website.

In using either Chromium 37.0.2 on an Ubuntu 12.04 machine or Chrome 46.0.2 on a Windows 7 box, the web pages have no vertical scroll bar. On Firefox ? on windows 7 the vertical scroll is available.

Best of luck

Open boat for a bigger paddler

I was approached by a friend-of-a-friend who was interested in getting into whitewater OC1. Had a good chat with the FOAF, he seems very interested, when the local water returns I'm going to try and take him out locally. The issue that I see is that he's a big guy, 6'4" ( 193 cm), ~ 300 lb (136 kg)....

Go to boat?

What do you put on the car when you don't know where you are going in the AM? I have a three boats in the quiver, a Cascade, a Redline, and a Bulldog. When I'm going to my home creek and I know the level's going to be low, I take the Redline, when I know it's going to be high enough I take the Bulld...

Re: How do you brace your feet

Another vote for I don't bother with foot pegs/toe cups. In my C1s (two Cascades and a Redline) I'm using the basic Dagger saddle with some extra wedges to hold my knees out. In none of these boats do I have any sort of toe block, nor feel the need. The saddles in these boats are between 7 (Redline)...
