Thanks. The batiscan is a great tripping river. We use a mix of 50 and 60L barrels. They do fit sidewys under the gunnals provided the harness is low profile. The barrels also provide pretty good floatation provided they are tied in. A genesis makes an excellent tripping boat

We regularly trip in vertiges. I just bought an impulse for tripping. Travis is in an MR Fantasy.... that might not be the best boat for the occasion, but he got away with a weeks gear ...

I drive a prius.

My Airhead C1 fits inside nicely with the seats down.

I have put a prospector, a zephyr and an Ocoee on top. Milage went to 8L/100KM.

With a zephyr ususal milage was 6-6.5 L/100KM

I drive with the roof rack on full time and get 5.1 L/100KM 90% highway driving.

One month is definately not enough time to drive from Halifax to Skookumchuck and back. It is a 5-6 Day drive each way.

+ The praries suck for paddling.

BTW Gonzo, skook is on the sunshine coast of BC near sechelt not on the Island.
