Re: Canoe for the Grand Canyon

I rigged out a Wenonah Rendezvous. I knew I couldn't stay on my knees for very long, so I kept the factory seat, added knee pads, thigh straps, foot blocks, ankle blocks, a pump and filled it with float bags. I knelt when I had to and sat the rest of the time. It was surprisingly dry, turned well en...

Vacuum bagging composite repairs

I work for a shop and do the hard boat repairs. I've recently acquired a vacuum pump and am thinking about vacuum bagging some ot the repairs, especially when the patch goes on a concave surface. I'd like to get suggestions: -technique -materials and sources -types of material I can use vacuum baggi...

Raven Demo

Old,
I'm at the opposite end of the country, western Montana, and I have an un-outfitted Raven for sale and my Raven as a demo. Looks like you might consider going west, old man.

Bilge Pump in Wenonah Rendezvous

I'm taking a Rendezvous down the Grand Canyon in March. My knees told me that kneeling for 226 miles wasn't an option so I'm keeping the adjustable seat and rigging the boat for thigh straps and LOTS of flotation. I'm working on adding a bilge pump. I have an Esquif bilge pump system, unused though ...

NRS airbags

NRS told me they changed their airbag fabric from (roughly) 2008 to 2009 because they couldn't get a dump valve put in a bag made of the older (shiny gray) fabric.

ESQUIF BLAST

Lightly used Esquif Blast. Rigged tandem. Photos available.

Big fun, but I'd need to have a consistent tandem partner to really enjoy it.

Looking for $700.

In Missoula, MT.

Would consider trading for "river running" or creeking C1.

Marc, If you haven't sent the Fink to ALF, I'm still interested. My boss is heading NRS next Tuesday and could pick it up then if it's possible for the boat to get to Moscow. If that won't work, then I'll try to connect on the Lochsa or some other way. Half the paddle, half the brain?? No, twice the...

Hi Marc, The Fink is sounding interesting. I'd love to try it out before committing. We (The Trail Head, in Missoula) have a trailer coming to NRS in about 2 weeks. If the Fink hasn't sold and gone to ALF, is it possible to pick up the Fink, bring it up here and try it out. Then, if it doesn't work ...

Finkenmeister

Marc, Tell me about the Fink'. I've owned an Outrage and a Zoom (I got addicted to edges) and just converted an old Perception Method Air to a C1. I live in Missoula and paddle the Blackfoot and the Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork. The Lochsa is fairly comfortable below 7000 cfs. I'm 5'11", a soaki...

OC-1, C-2

Hi Alan,

Are you giving up OC-1 slalom? Or, have you decided the Defiant isn't enough challenge and are deciding to race your Ocoee in the 13' race class?

I'd like to check out your mighty Hydra. Is this the same boat we used on the Gallatin about a decade ago?
