I don't really understand how you could have an avulsion when the cause is a chronic one-but my knowledge of injuries is still fairly basic (compared to Kneal).

In case anyone hasn't seen it: awa is selling c-1 skirts for $25. i'm sure there's a reason for them being so cheap, but the $ go to a good cause. the skirts might just be good to have around "just in case". check it out at americanwhitewater.org (but you knew that...)
