Description:
I used the original Hahn hull mold to create an OC-1 for the 1975 Nationals on the Dead River. Essentially I made a fiberglass 'donut' deck mold that bolted to the hull mold just like the closed deck mold did for the C-1. It was about 6" high amidships, somewhat more at the ends. I'm sure I have photos of it on file. I won the race with 205, Steve Fulton was 2nd with 234, and Don Jarrell, a friend from State College, used my boat for the race and missed 3rd by one second. Barb McKee and I won OC-2Mix using a Bluehole ABS canoe outfitted with thigh straps and toe blocks.

Twelve more of the open Hahns were built from my mold before I sold it to McRae Dalton in 1985. The Hahn had a slight tumblehome and almost no outwale, while the Zoomer had some flare in the bow and a thicker outwale, both of which helped it to run drier in waves.
