I have a Prophet for $250 in Arkansas. Needs work but has lots of life left in it.

I've always tried to never speak ill of a boat, (or at least declared it a bad boat) because it will suit someone somewhere. so I'm not saying anything about the prophet...

I understand. I got something I think will work for how I like to paddle.

I have a Prophet. I actually rather like it. I have only paddled a Spark one time.

I suppose that a Spark hull sort of resembles a Prophet in some ways, but there are sure a couple of big differences. The Spark is considerably narrower and much quicker than a Prophet. The Prophet spins well, but it is pretty slow.

The Spark, being narrower, is much less forgiving IMO than the Prophet. The Prophet is a steeply rockered, deep, tub with rounded chines which makes it pretty user-friendly in terms of staying upright and in the boat. Its rather obscene amount of bow rocker makes it quite dry running through wave trains and keeps the bow from porpoising going over sizable drops.

Based on my limited experience, the Spark is much sportier but probably not quite so forgiving.
