Re: Hahn size

I believe that the height from the floor to the deck near the saddle should be 13 inches.

Hahn size

How can I tell if the Hahn I picked up is cut down, or full cut. The one I picked up seams a Li'll tight, or maybe I put on a little, since paddling one lady.

Tippecanoe

... though relatively round or roly poly, are *functionally* very stable. They might feel a bit soft, but not "tippy". Examples I would cite are the Hahn and the Magnet, both relatively full from end to end, and both very close to symmetrical. As c-boats and the kayaks from which they were "converted" ...

Re: Canoe for the Grand Canyon

Last year I paddled the entire 280 miles in a C-1 Hahn. 8) I've C-1ed, C-2ed or OC-1ed the Grand over 20 times (mostly OC-1) and never, ever hitched a ride. I just paddle ahead of the rafts a ways then get out and walk up and down a beach to get circulation ...

Re: Need help identifying which model of 1979 Perception can

Mystery solved. Here is what Steve Scarborough had to say about the boat. " That is an HD-1. It's a Hahn c1 hull with the sides built up. The serial number starts with WEM, which stands for William E. Masters. My hands are definitely clean on that boat. All of my designs ...

Re: Adams new Magnet

... the stern to side-cut a bit more easily. The way I looked at the Magnet, after my brief try in it, was as a tremendously optimized version of a Hahn. The soft rails underneath are a great addition. Magnet will carve much, much better. But it could use a larger flattish undersurface for dynamic ...

... good sized rim, but also depends on the seat height you can stand. Another trick will be wearing only socks (or less). You may want to check out a Hahn, as Charlie Walbridge is about your size as I recall. Available cheap often too, if you're willing to go old school glass vs. newer. Millbrook ...

... to do? That is a huge factor in determining which boat you should look at, i.e. there is no point in looking at something like a Cascade and/or a Hahn if playing and surfing are your primary goals. What allows me to go as low as possible are a wide knee spread, in conjunction with a a short, wide ...

... help a little, so that's my next project for my current boat). Anyway, thanks for the good solid list to get me started - Sith, Cascade, Karma, Hahn - basically, I know I'm looking for a wide, flattish bottomed boat. Good enough to get me started!
