A possible Renaissance of Race boats?

... what you want & feel comfortable & familiar. I had a kevlar Batmax fly off my van at the West & bounce around...and my first C-1, an old McKnight Hahn (blush..I didn't own it for long) slipped off Paul Flack's father's boat rack in the middle of the 340 bridge at Harpers Ferry, and got dragged ...

sea C-1?

... didn't even have anyone that would speculate on design ideas for this. Strange, I thought that they would be on the forefront of this. hades, a Hahn may be a good place to start. After a Glacier Bay expedition I agree that holding up a paddle all day is not for me. I am no K boater. I have seen ...

FS: Blackwater C1, a steal at $300!

... on the bow that I didn't think needed to be fixed anytime soon. Posted on Nov 10, 1999, 10:36 AM Blackwater by DaveM Angie, I think Andy used a Hahn for his Baffin Island trip, but that doesn't take anything away from the Blackwater. Andy used a Blackwater for among other things as his Great ...

Outfitting Question

... want to fix up the outfitting in the boat before I take it out on a river. It's an old glass boat, someone molded at home in the late 70s. Maybe a Hahn mold? I'm not sure. 2 problems: the minicell on the bottom is all ripped up so it scrapes my knees and feet - I always come out bleeding & I swim ...

First glass boat for intermediate Atom paddler?

... glass boats by Scott W. Aside from the Blackwater, you might also check out the boats from Millbrook Boats. John K. makes a nice modified Hahn, as well as Bob Putnam's glass spinoff of the Cascade, the "Hornet." (See Bob's post in this forum below.) These are all excellent boats. Ed Gertler ...

... For those of you looking for the a larger volume boat without losing the responsiveness of glass, I would suggest Andy Bridges Blackwater or a Hahn. (I believe Andy has both of these molds) The Hahn is still a very nice boat. Andy paddled a Hahn on his Baffin Island expedition and quite a few ...

Thanks for Spare paddle info!

... made a great deal of sense to me. Thos photo's you mentioned would be a great help to many I'm sure. I remember the first time I got into a Sweet/ Hahn C-1. Being of larger frame ( 6'2 230lbs) I barely fir into the cockpit opening. I couldn't believe that boat. I was no where near ready to paddle ...

Hold on to that paddle!

... C1ers rarely carry an extra paddle because--as you discovered--there's no place to put it! I think Ed Gertler may carry one, but he paddles a Hahn, which has a deck similar to the U.S.S. Nimitz. (Nothing against the Hahn--it's a great boat.) Actually, we rely on open boaters for spare paddles! ...
