The tower systems for both Thule and Yakima are standard for the most part to most makes of vehicles. The F350 if you are to mount a roof rack to the roof and not the bed, will need different adaptors and cross bars than the Pilot. They will both use the same Tower. There are real good fit guides at...

John, If memory serves me correctly I believe they listed the upper limit at 85 kg. Big for a slalom C1. I dropped Vajda a note about the Fantome and weights in Spring of '06 and they said they had built one for an 87 kg paddler and that was the biggest to date. It might be worth the drive to just g...

I have spent a fair amount of time thinking about this over the last two years as I have been working with my two sons on slalom racing. One is a kayaker the other a C-Boater. Here are some observations: 1. The hype factor of Kayaking with the dynamic videos of playboating and extreme descents playe...

It is the spine of the blade. The more pronounced the spine running down the middle of the blade the more flutter on the "in-water recovery". Also, the angle of the blade on recovery and how hard and fast you are pushing it forward will affect the flutter. I hate that flutter. Get a Galasport Carbon...

I got some pics I will send'em to you. Basically, 1. Find the balance point. You can get a rough idea by eyeballing it. Try placing a pole on the ground and set boat on top of the pole at right angle to the pole. The center point will be found by moving the boat forward and back. The seat will go so...

The Vajda Lizard and Galasport Makao are pretty much the boats to have. They are the best all around performers. Both are true 350 boats. The Martikan'07 is like the website says, designed for Michal Martikan. If you look at some of the Euro club races, some people have success with it. However, it ...

Great points Michielv and C1W. I like the paralellel with Competitive Swimming.

The point is made real simple by comparing this:

To this:

What a difference....

I tell you those stickers are so cheap.... yet they mean so much to the athlete. They are very very important. They are a clear sign of recognition as is national rankings, as is the Cadet Team, as is the recognition of development athletes, in that regard USACK could play a big role; however, they ...

Crickets.... You know if I did not have to send them $100+ every year for a family membership I really would not know what they do for me, except redistribute money. The insurance for race organizers is about the only benefit I perceive. They do ask for more money from me to send the Coaches oversea...

That eddy was very dynamic. The first picture shows Eric coming in off the drop. He was aiming for the little area of stability that the gate was sitting atop of. He missed the line and hit the "green water" rushing back upstream. You can see by his angle that he went into an instant ferry across th...
