Re: Paddling Magazine article

... the Noah "Atlantis" series. I try to "limit" myself to boats that 10 or more have been made of (as such the Oxygen counts, but really the Mentor, Maven, and Ceemweaver don't, at least at this point). I thought Ian did a fantastic job pulling all my ramblings together - he and I chatted quite a ...

... and they are going strong. Dynel is wicked stuff. Apart from soaking up an amazing amount of resin the stuff is brutal on metal blades. I made a Maven with Dynel as the outer layer of the hull. Cutting it down (cured) I usually get the hull and deck out of one blade, sometimes more. I went through ...

That's what you get for paddling a squirt boat at a weight exceeding the cut;)

Well, except for the Demo Maven. You aren't heavy enough for that one!

Re: What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

Running a single Class II rapid in the Maven. Got off water feeling like I had a 6 hr work out. :o I think the O2 would be just as hard. As for the ACE - never been in it so I take your word on that one Adam.

What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

I admit... my used Ace III was by far the most difficult for me... even the Oxygen (and Maven) are easier.

That said, some of the problem may have been the flexing hull. I have a Bala (also a WildWater boat) that is far less terrifying.

Then I wound up with a barn and they lived there until we built a house and I added a covered boat rack to it to keep the boats out ...

Searches on "Mentor" or "Maven" will yield information and images on my non-strip built boats (the strip boats are open flat water boats for kids that and are not on the site). ...
