Re: C1 for Slalom Races

Jahn,

I received your message. The Martikan C1 was sold. But then the buyer decided they didn't want to start paddling C1 after all.. I've had it in storage ever since. It still has not yet been paddled. If you'd like it for $400, it's yours.

Best,
Adam (vangrack at gmail . com)

Re: Slalom C1 Comparison? Vajda MM Max, One, iScream

Just some thoughts about 2 of the boats from what I read and have heard (I have paddled neither). Anything built for Michel Martikan is going to feel tippy as his boats are not built with stability in mind. The iScream should be a larger volume boat which will make it more stable/easier ...

Even at 200 lbs, most of the current boats are not really suited - seems like they are all designed for Mikal Martikan with an optimum weight around 170 lbs I paddle a full cut Vajda Scream - it does ok, but it is easy to tell that it sits lower in the water ...

Re: Vajda Martikan Slalom C1 For Sale (Never Been Paddled!)

I cannot readily find more information about the Martikan c-1 slalom boat. 4-meter boat means it is the older 13-foot, 2-inch model. Do you have any performance characteristics you could post about it? It is a pretty sweet boat.

... Tasiadis from Germany, he's the only one who took a backsurf from 14-15. Others surfed or went through the wave, great move... Also worth noting, Martikan didn't make Finals, but his semifinal line choice was good in this section as well, he chose to jump the wave, and directly go for 15, suffered ...

Just thought it was worth mentioning on here. Considering Martikan's accomplishments, I think it is simply amazing that a US athlete was able ...

Martikan's boat was based on the Fanatic, but he was only about 140 lbs at the time - so it was specially cut just for him
